Ben Williamson was born in Vancouver and grew up in interior of British Columbia. He completed his undergrad at Concordia University in Montréal in 2008, and went on to complete a Masters in Fine Arts at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2010. He then moved to Philadelphia PA, where he had a studio in an abandoned church that had been hit by lightening. Between 2015 to 2018, Ben ran a gallery called Les Expositions Ymuno with his partner Madeline. He is now head technician at Stewart Hall Art Gallery in Pointe-Claire, and does contract work for other galleries and artists. He makes his own oil paint and also builds stretchers and crates and things. He has shown his paintings nationally and internationally, and has work in collections in Canada, the United States, and overseas.
